Not too sure but if it's going to be -25'C for the next week, it might be a little while. I don't have any of the snow suits that I had out at the farm. Once I strip it down it will be fairly hard to move it as it will be sitting on the frame. It's probably buried in a snow bank by now.

I was thinking of that but do you have a trailer that it will fit on? It would barely fit on Fomoko's. How big of a winch do you have to pull this heavy b*****d onto the trailer. Might have to cut the rear u-bolts off as they might be rusted on pretty good.
The Bobcat would get the tow truck on a trailer even if it`s a GN.
I`m sure it can move heavier stuff than Bob`s tow truck will.....just won`t have the speed on the hiway.
Which ot a big enough traler whinch is a hand unit but if we have handled 1 tons before. Our hnd winch is more powerful then electric, (depends on who is running it I guess) LOL
But if we can load a Case LA easy a 1 ton no problem don't want to sound too cocky.
How is the wrecker connected to the frame will it have to be torched off?
I think it's mostly bolted on but there are some brackets on the rear that are welded on. If it's sunny this weekend, I should be able to come out to Fomoko's. I might have a couple shirts and pants on . Plus I got to see the SK51.
I don't think it would be too bad if you removed the boom and attached mounting chains to it's mounts. Then you could lift it right off. Which truck do you plan on putting it on cause the wheelbase on the 68 is 135". If you were to put it on a regular chassis it would require the rear axle to be set back. It might be easier to just repair the chassis.
I have a 53 1 ton needing a box I have a 67 3/4 ton that is heavy enough If I want to go overkill I have a 56 Fargo 2 ton with a Hemi. Now that may be a idea probally the wrecker is too small.
I would cut alot of the heavy useless steel off the deck that`s not needed so it wouldn`t be too heavy for a 1 ton truck once the extra weight is gone.
Okay I though about it I have a 1949 International 1 1/2 ton and how the cab is shaped it would look cool as a tow truck. I got a 240 6 cyl. motor in a 51 1ton that would be acceptable.
