428 Cobra Jet

Are there any distinctive visual features that one can notice on a 428CJ that a 390 or similiar motor does not have. In short just by looking under the hood how could one tell they are looking at a 428? Thanks

Mark your in the wrong forum. You want the FE Big block forum. But to answer your questions everything on the 428 CJ is pretty easy to ID other than the block. 428 block casting numbers are sometimes the same as 390 and other FE's. Sure you can check the stroke but that still leaves the cyl bore question. And how honest the seller is being. This site should be some help tho. www.428cobrajet.com Click on component ID section.
