Nope - it might have just gotten lost in cyberspace
Well I tried using the quotation feature several times on MCarlson's response and I kept getting some message about it going into a Moderator's forum for review. Then I tried writing another post which did appear on the board for a time but I went back to edit it with a copy and paste quotation from MCarlson's post and the whole thing disappeared????????
So maybe MCarlson has the secret can't quote me power?

Sometimes system gets clogged up. I've had this happen and it sounds like you got an error msg that I've goten before. Wish it would say "error try again".
This is one of many reasons I went to be a "supporter" so as to not have banner ads and be placed on a priority system so as not to get those errors. Been great being a supporter.

I could be wrong, it's been known to happen, but weren't those 70's GM diesels converted 350s?
I have limited personal experience with heavy duty diesels, but I have driven more than a few Cummins inlines and 6.9 naturally aspirated trucks that had well over 250,000 miles on them.
Well you can buy Cummins inlines with spark plugs and the 6.9 Liter Diesel was a converted gas engine also..........
The only way I know of to quote anything is to retype it. If my computer didn't cost so much, I'd throw it in a river. It might land next to my old cell phone.
Anyway, the only point I tried to make is that American diesels, to this point in time, have been focused towards towing and heavy duty applications. Europe has been designing them specifically for "personal use" for quite awhile. That's why I'd rather have a Ford/Puegot diesel than a V6 powerstroke. It's just suits my needs better.

The way to do this is to press the "quote" button on the lower right hand section of the person your quoting. This will bring up another screen with the quote. be patient as this can be sometimes slow. You can then delete what you don't want within the quote. Just be sure to leave alone the [ quote= name] and [/quote] at both ends. Then type in your reply.
In the late 70s people bought some GM diesel vehicles including pickups becuase they thought they would outlast any gas engine made. I would resist the assumptions that a diesel will outlast any gas engine made and that if it comes from Europe it will be better.
Those were the old 350's that they converted to Diesel engine without beefing it up. MAJOR mistake on GM's part, and it caused hell for the diesel community.
Any WELL built diesel that is not abused will outlast a gasoline engine any time.
