This has happened twice now within the last couple 100 miles. Once while I was driving, and once at a stop light. The "Check Engine" light comes on and the engine doesn't take any fuel. It continues to idle just perfectly, but the pedal has no effect. After about a minute or two the light goes out and the truck is back to normal. Is this the CPS?
Thanks,
What's the sequence? No acceleration then check engine light or the other way around. What relay are you referring to? the accelerator pedal is just a variable resistor.

Sorry, I meant to write sensor. The light and dead pedal happen simultaneously, they are definitely related. The light comes on, the engine continues to idle strong but is unaffected by the throttle. The light goes off and everythngs back to normal. The feeling in the pedal remains the same, but even with it floored the is no reaction at all from the engine. No stumble, no hick-up just a steady idle.
Disconnect harness, unbolt, and replace. I recommend fiddling with the harness first. Disconnect, inspect, and plug back in. Try a few times before buying new.
Remember, these are fly by wire. Since there is no throttle or throttle plate, there is no throttle cable.
when i installed my exhaust brake i forgot to plug my throttle peddle back in..when i started it up the ses light would not come on till i stepped on the throttle peddle..i pulled my codes and this what i got <TABLE borderColor=#bebbbb cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 width=750 align=center border=1><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle width=50>P0221 </TD><TD align=left width=550>Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch B Circuit Range/Performance Problem </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>id do what tenn said and if nothing fixes it then you will need a new peddle asembly..
About a month ago I had the same exact problem. Using my predator it showed no code, but with the advice i had recieved here I ordered a new pedal assembly and put it in and it has been fine since. It takes less than 10 minutes to change it out and I beleive that i paid around $120.00 USD from ShopDiesel for it.
I have had a similar problem but no light on the dash. I have started my truck on several occasions and the pedal had no response and none of the dash was working...........radio and blower were working. It would idle just fine but nothing when pedal was pushed. Let it run for 10 minutes and went back out and cut it off and restarted and it ran normal. Took kids to school and come back out and moved out of the parking place and it started the same thing with the pedal but the gauges were working.......coasted to side of parking lot and gave it a few minutes then it went on.
Any ideas other than the pedal? Check with Superchips programmer and no codes showing.
