me and my brother (Ford_hord360) finally pulled the 360 and tranny out of the 73 parts truck. it was a little more difficult then we thought it would be. although a lot easier now that we have the cherry picker. we had problems with the tranny hanging up on the floorboard, and the exhaust pipes on the morter mounts. once we got it out we put it on the cart. then we fired it up it ran good concerding we just poured gas down the carb. Is there a saftey issue with running eingine out side a truck?
Hi its me Ford_hord360 pintoches little brother. For my first engine pull with a hoist it was sweet! Some minoir problems but mostly good. ive pulled a 351M by hand with a few budies and it sucked. todays job on the 73 was to salvage what we think is a 360 before pollution modifications came it to effect. I was amazed by the fact that the 360 we pulled runns better than the one we have tuned and pintoches drives every day in his beautiful 76 but why its so weird is the 73 360 we pulled sat for 5 years and fired right up no delays no sputter at all.
we will have photos covering the project soon though i do have a picture of the 73 in my albulm
You guys keep doing this kind of stuff, you'll be looking for my job! Keep it up. we need good techs out here, theres too many "less than satisfactory" ones out here!
I almost brought home a 78 ford pickup just for grins, and when I came home to get my checkbook, I made the mistake of telling mom what I was doing... She wouldn't allow that thing on the property, apparently...
It looked just like yours, except a soft green. The guy wanted $900, and I was ready to pay in full!

Mine was only $650. And it's sitting this week. Radiator Boy is out of town, so I'm driving his little Focus this week. Cost me all of 20 bucks to fill it, and I'll go all week with that and have gas left...the truck is not quite as um... fuel effecient.
Still, if you want to borrow mine for a day to boil Mom's potatoes, I'm all about it! Just make sure she doesn't shoot it.
