Monroe shocks

I put new front springs on ole' Bueford today. Talk about a front lift!! Kidding aside, it raised the front end up 1.75". The old springs were really sprung. Anyways, I put new monroe shocks on it about 6 mos. ago. I noticed that after I removed one of the shocks that it didn't "grow". I could physically push it up and down and it took a some effort, but the bottom half didn't shoot out like the other did. Is this a bad shock? Thanks.

I'd say yes. My Bilsteins come up fast and take a big effort to push them back down.

A way to tell if a shock is blown is to go for a drive on any road that is not perfectly smooth. Come back, get out and grab the shock body. A cold one is a bad one, in this case.
