I have read I can send my pcd to Jody. Whos Jody and whats my pcd. I dont really drive this truck often so I dont want to spend alot on a chip. Also what is the good and bad about running a straight pipe exhaust?
i think you are talking about your PCM, which is the computer that runs your truck. what do you use the truck most for? towing? long haul trips? because based on what you use your truck for will determine how much power you will want. do you have gauges because you will need them. as far as the straight pipe, i have no complaints. it is louder outside the truck and a little louder inside but with mods this is a must.
You have two choises, pull your computer and send it to him, then he will reprogram it and sent it back. Or you can have him send you one of his and you send yours back. You PCM (power control module) is located by the E brake, you can see a black box.
Nothing wrong with a straight pipe, can get a little "blappy" sometimes but not a darn thing wrong with it.
Get gauges, atleast a Pyro, but tranny and boost is good too!
To answer another of your questions, Jody is the guy who along with his wife Diane, own and operate DP-Tuner. They are a sponsor of FTE, and awesome to do business with. The website is www.dp-tuner.com, and I would give Jody a call to discuss with him what you plan to use the truck for. He will be able to give you some excellent adivce on what products and services he has available, and what would serve you best.
thanks alot all I really use the truck for is to pull a trailer of atvs. I will give him a call monday. As far as the straight pipe goes I work at a welding shop do yall just cut off the old muffler can and weld a piece of pipe in there?
