2003 - 6.0-4x4 crew cab made changes ?

2003 - 6.0-4x4 crew cab made changes need answers !

I wanted to get as much MPG as I could . Firsst installed a K&N .Did nothing for my MPG . Next Super Chip , set for performance , gained 2 MPG. Next installed 4" pipe , took out the Resinator and Cat . installed a straight muf. Lost 1 MPG . ??? Can anyone tell me why I lost MPGS? Thanks

The K&N is worthless for your diesel--go back to the stocker. It's flow and filtration are MORE than adequate for what your stock turbo can handle. MPG's are always a little iffy. Could be driving habits, weather, fuel quality, winter blend diesel, etc. You're on the right path. Adding Diesel Kleen every tank helps greatly, not only with mileage but with keeping your overall fuel system clean--everything from injectors to EGR and turbo. When you say straight muffler, do you mean straight piped or what??? I would have removed the muffler before the Cat--it's much more restrictive.
