Air bag problem

Air bag problem

Hi everyone,

I have a prob with the air bags. The air bag light in the dash flashes 3-4 times and stops, then starts again, stops and starts flashing again then it stays on. The light always flashes few times at the beginning before staying on. Anybody had this problem before ? anybody has a solution ?

Hey CrazyMax, if someone on here cannot help you real soon, I would not hesitate to get this checked and/or fixed as soon as possible. There is too much riding on not having your airbags working properly.

I solve the problem !! I was surfing on the forum and found https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...bag-light.html

And someone had the same probleme as mine. But finally it was the connector under the drivers seat. Thankx to all !

Yeah the connectors under the seats are junk on these... you can try unplugging them, use a small screwdriver to tighten up the pins a bit and reconnect. If this doesn't work you can buy new connectors from FORD, but they have to be soldered in... or if you're brave you can snip the connectors out completely and solder the wires together, although I'm not sure of the legality of doing that.

The Air Bag monitor is VERY touchy about resistance in that circuit, so whatever you do must be done right.

Good luck. (Keep in mind this is assuming the connectors ARE your problem... although it's quite possible there are many other things that can set an air bag light.)
