clutch

I'm not sure yet. . . . but my clutch might be slipping. Its hard to tell. I was brake torquing with it the other day. . . and the rpms shot up and I couldn't tell if the wheels or wheel was spinning. I didn't hear any barking from my mud terrains. . . but the engine was making plenty of noise and so was the exhaust pipe. . . . plus it was night time so it was hard to look at the tire. I noticed a couple times haullin ***** in first and second gear the same RPM rise. . . sometimes from 2500 to 3400. . . . So I think its a tire breaking loose. When I first got my clutch and it wasn't broke in. . . it would slip a few times in fifth but it would only be a 200 rpm rise. Also thinking its a tire because I havn't smelled clutch burning. Any thoughts? beside go out and confirm? Also. . . . whats a good upgrade from what I already have?

I would drive around in 4wd and see if you can experience the same phenomenon, that would rule out tire slip. We are in the clutch unit at school now and im learning alot. Most OTR trucks have double-disk clutches, usually ceramic. Ceramic is grippy and since you have a ceremetallic clutch as it is, i think you will benefit from a double disk feramic, ceremetallic, or even 4-6 button DD ceramic if you want to spend the $$. Kevin Barr runs a Double Disk but i dont know if it's ceramic.
