It depends on how the overall condition of the truck is. If the body is decent, or in repairable condition, someone might be interested in it. If it is a block of rust, iy may be just scrap. You may be able to get a few bucks by parting it out, if you want to take the time.If it runs, that's a plus. It really boils down to the overall condition of the truck.
Was reading old board messages and saw yours. I have been looking for a set of front fenders for my 56 F350 and was wondering if you were going to part out the 53. If so could you give me an idea of what the fenders are like and what you would want to sell them for.
I am in Idaho. I have several different 56 Ford trucks that I have gotten for misc. parts. Not real interested in another unless circumstances were such that I counldn't turn the deal down. I have a 56 1 ton with a steel dump bed, large window cab and a good driver. It cost me $400 and it all works. 1 tons seem to be sort of a misfit in the truck collecter system. I saw one go for $3,000 once but it only had 18k for mileage and was in great shape. Right now I'm basically interested in a spare set of front fenders in good shape.
I am interested in getting a older F-350 such as the one you have. Can you give me a description of the shape that it is in and whether it has a bed on it or not and does it have dual wheels on the rear?
The truck does not have a bed, but it has dual wheels. I believe that it has not been ran for about 3 years. Prior to that it was used at least on an annual basis & had ran fine. Until last year it had been stored in a barn. In my judgement the truck could be restored, but there would be some work involved. If you would like to look at it, or have any other questions please let me know.
I am interested. I don't mind if it doesn't run. I was going to put a crate motor and a new automatic tranny in it anyways. Modernize it. Also I was going to put a pickup bed on it. Forward any info you wish about it to me. Thanks.
To restore, the cab would need some work. I am not a body man, but I do not think there are any problems that could not be fixed. My dad purchased it new, and it has never been wrecked. He put a dump bed on it, and used it as a farm truck. We are located in Central Missouri. Would you like to come look at it?
This is Mike, I live in Houston and would like to see the truck but the logitics are tough. I will need to try to find time to go that distance. I recently seen one sell at an auction for $700.00 and driven away!I didn't have any money at the time otherwise I would have snapped it up! Tell me if we can be in this ballpark before I come that distance.
WE ARE IN THE SAME BALL PARK. WHAT SPECIFIALLY ON THE TRUCK NEEDS TO BE IN "GOOD CONDITION?" HOUSTON IS CERTAINLY SOME DISTANCE. I WOULD HATE FOR YOU TO MAKE A TRIP, AND DISCOVER SOMETHING YOU WANTED WAS NOT AS GOOD AS YOU HAD HOPED.
