I just bought a new 35ft 5th wheel trailer and I need a 1 ton longbed p/u to pull it. Why 1 ton to pull? The trailer weighs 10,200lbs. empty and can take a pay load of up to 3400lbs. (weight added + empty weight). So obviously I need a truck that can pull almost 14,000lbs. My friend has a 91 F350 6.8 or .9L diesel (not powerstroke) and he pulls 12,000lbs easy.
I found a 92 F350 4dr crew cab 7.3L diesl turbo 4WD loaded for $9,000. My main concern here is will it be able to pull all that weight? Also does anyone know how much HP/Torgue this engine has?
Also should I buy? Pro's/Con's Do's/Don't's?
a 350 has heavier suspension, brakes, and is geared lower to handle heavy loads. the 350 should handle it no prob, if u have the money, u may want to look for a 450. it will handle anything u want t pull with less wear on the truck
cut me and i'll bleed ford blue
