Hi to all. I have a 2003 F-250 Diesel 6.0L with 71000 Miles. My Problem is that in the Morning's my Truck will start on the first attempt within seconds. Now after I Drive it for 15 Min. to work,Stop the Engine and then try to start it again it has a hard time starting.I have changed out the oil, Fuel and Air Filter's in the past 2 Weeks. Has anyone heard of this type of problem Thanks Wade
watch your oil pressure gauge when this happens and see how it acts compared to a normal start time. it could be a hpop going out or could be a leak in the system.
I just had the same issue solved two weeks ago. It turned out to be the starter. When the starter is going out it won't crank fast enough to get the oil pressure up high enough. Without it being high enough for the computer to say it was good, the truck will not start. As soon as the new starter went in, I could tell the difference in the speed in which the starter turned was much higher and the warm engine starting issue has dissappeared. You may have the same issue. I have an 04 with an 03 motor.
Thank's for the reply. So far my oil Pressre is fine and I had the Truck at the Dealer for a Min. who stated the Starter also seem's fine but he would not be able to look at it for another week or so Thanks again Wade
I had same problem which gradually got more frequent and more severe until truck would not start at all when warm. Dealer replaced fuel pump under warranty and problem is resolved.
