>Just an idea!
Our old Aerostar was on a two year lease. When the Red Carpet Lease was up, money was tight for buying the van so we extended for a full year. After the 3rd year we purchased the van.

I've got an F350 with window vents and metal mirror frames and an Excursion with full windows and functional extendable & adjustable mirrors. When I'm in the F350, everyone behind me just looks like bouncing objects/lights in the exterior mirrors and the vents whistle all the time. My Ex is quiet, and I can extend and adjust the mirrors from inside the cab.
When I trade in the F350, I'll send you the mirrors and vent windows to downgrade your 99 or newer vehicle back to ancient specifications. The loss of vents may or may not be a problem. The new mirrors that DON'T vibrate are a huge improvement.
>suspension, like the expedition.
Well, now that Chevy has gone mega-stupid and released their truck with optional 4-wheel-steering, I'm sure Ford will be quick to follow with some rear-axle changes of their own.
I do not, however, believe that "Quadrasteer" OR an independent rear suspension will work as well on a pickup truck as it would on an SUV. As soon as you throw a ton of rock or firewood or whatever in the bed, there are going to be major issues with either system.
Geez....why can't either company "leave well enough alone" ??
