I want to do all these mods to my truck. Its a 1995 F350 7.5 460. 4x4 Automatic. I dont want to go into the motor really. But dont know if i should. I am interested in getting headers, 61mm throttle body, MSD ignition system, and Jet performance module. What will all that do, will it be a lethal combination? The only thing i think i might need to switch out would be the fuel injectors, which i want to do anyway. I found some super performance ones from Venom, which are $370 for a set of 8. Wouldnt all these components make this thing more consistent and powerful?
Headers (followed by three inch exhaust off of long tubed headers)
Throttle body
MSD Ignition system
Chip
Performance Fuel injectors
The OEM throttle body will flow up to 800cfm, so on a stock or relatively stock engine there will be no improvement.
The 1995 OEM ignition system is a hot and provides as much performance as you can get from aftermarket.
Recommend Superchips flashpack # 1815. I ordered a Superchips Flashpack 1815 from Strippermotorsports.com (866-706-7744) and the service was excellent! Including shipping the price was $365. They also carry other brands and were very helpful on the phone responding to questions, etc.
Headers and a complete exhaust system, good money well spend and will see the most gain.
Fuel injector swap, unless you're changing to a much larger cam and doing valve/intake work to match, really a waste of $ compared to gain. The OEM factory injectors (19 lbs IIRR) can be made to deliver fuel longer (ECM programming) to emulate a 20-21 lb injector.
after headers and exhaust system, what should be the first thing to do? I already have a K&N Cold air Intake, and a exhaust system. But when I get the headers I have to change the exhaust system. But what first? The chip? then after that?
