LAST EDITED ON 12-Mar-01 AT 08:15 AM (EST)[p]I have access to a 1948 F-6 that a dump was added but still has the flatbed. Looks to be all there with some rust holes on the door where a mirror used to be and wood on bed needs to be replaced and needs tires. Is there any market for these big trucks and if so what would this be worth in runnung condition? What is this truck rated as? Im guessing 2-ton.
Easy question first: the F6 is rated as a two ton. Value - doesn't seem to be much market for the big trucks other than as an active farm truck. There seems to be some market for Cab-Over-Engines (COE) when rebuilt as car haulers.
Where I am any big truck in decent working order can be found for sale in the 1000-3500 range. (once you get beyond a certain age they just get lumped together)
I am pretty sure that if you restore it, you will get more invested in it than it can be sold for - under normal circumstances.
