Just curious what everyone is running for lockers?? I have open 3:73's and I'm on the CO state line and had to do a fair amount of digging (anything short of 44's would have) but with lockers I would have done alot less. Been looking around and was curious on what everyone here is running. How are the factory LS? Found a website that had the oem application for 350 bucks, but was curious about front and what everyone reccomended. Thanks-Digging in Kansas.
on my 03 I put a detroit in the rear, I run open in the front but you can get 2 or 3 different ls for the dana I got the locker from dts in warren MI and reider racing has the front dana ls.
a locker would be almost undrivable in the front.a limited slip would be as aggressive as i would want.a locker in the back and ls in the front with some weight in the bed and you'll go thru alot of snow.
ARB's front and rear in my truck. I get great traction when it's all locked and can still steer when the front axle is open. A Detroit Locker would be a good choice for the rear axle as well though an ARB is a stronger unit.
I bought and had the ARB's installed at Off Road Unlimited in Burbank. You may want to contact West Coast Differentials, Drivetrain Direct, Reider Racing, Randy's Ring & Pinion, and some FTE sponsors and see what their price would be for lockers.
You'll certainly save cash since you have the knowledge and skills to install a locker yourself.
Good discussion here regarding the factory LS and Detroit Truetrac.
What are you using your truck for? On road the Truetrac is a nice unit for the price. If you are doing a lot of off road I would prefer the ARB lockers due to the flexibility they give you.
i have a powertrax in the front and the factory ls in the back. the powertrax is awsome for the price. it dosnt really matter if the front is streetable anyways, thank you hubs but i have not had a problem getting stuck yet.

so when it's icy/slippery you un-lock one hub?i realize it's probably great in deep snow but it's gotta push in cornerswhen it's icy with it locked in.
