Here We Go Again!

Well, who has a new horror story due to the latest storm? Not bad down here in the "Banana Belt", maybe 3 inches of snow in Pueblo West.

What I am waiting for is news from my sis and her family who will be flying into DIA this evening, maybe. They have been in Lost Wages the past few days, changed their flight into Denver from this AM to PM. I think that might have been a mistake! They might get in, but I figure they will be stuck in Denver for a day or so. Highways are all snow packed and icy, top to bottom along the front range. As of now, I see no major highway closures though.

I'm thinking 16 to 20 inches here. It was bad yesterday, started as rain. Last night we heard thunder as the snow was coming down, pretty cool.

Well, we got 'maybe' another inch overnight, giving us around 5 or 6 inches. Maybe, just maybe, this is an sign that our drought is broken!

Pueblo paper has an article this moring explaining Pueblo's "Banana Belt" weather patterns.

http://www.chieftain.com/metro/1167493032/2

On a good note, family did make it back into DIA yesterday late afternoon, drove south on I-25. I know they made it as far as the Springs, stopped there for food. Since I didn't get any calls later on, I am assuming they made it into Pueblo later on.

Now, as for the tumbleweeds, over the past week as you drive around Pueblo West along Hiway 50, you see many many columns of smoke as we burn our way out of the things! That is about the only way to get rid of them, also kills the seeds so maybe next hatch will be slightly less. Next year when the winds hit, maybe we'll only have them 19 1/2 feet deep!

Morrison Snow Fall

Here in Morrison we added another 30 inches to the last 32, we received, a few nights before. My sister, who lives in Sheridan only got about 8 inches, same with my parents in Aurora.

Cool beans!!!
My forearms stopped hurting from last week. Late Thursday night I really began to appreciate not smoking for the last year. LOL I'm really glad to see some water on the front range. Now to get even more in storage for the summer months.

I saw mud! Yesterday and today...in the afternoon. It was the soft squishy kind, not that hard-as-a-rock stuff we've had lately. For some odd reason, it felt good under my boots...
