Umm simply put. . . . . . . . . . . . . .no it will not, thats alot of tire for a 8.8, i'd go with at least a 31spl 9" and if you can afford it go with a35spline upgrade or go straight to a sterling 10.25 full float.
LOL... if you got those 38" boggers spinnin good and it caught on a root or rock even a Sterling could be overstressed!
i love the guys with Z71's and F150s who brag about the 39" boggers they got with their last paycheck and then they rarely use them and then when they do they get stuck b/c the motor gets bogged down.

If you are hard on the truck while offroad...then no, it will not hold up.
If you are just a light weekend wheeler, then it should be fine.
