RMS94, The F-150 Styleside "Tailgate Outside Finish Panel" will have a black reflector strip running the width of the panel and will say "FORD" in chrome lettering on the far passenger side. These panels on the F-150 Styleside will attach with 4 acorn nuts (2 drivers side, 2 passenger side) and 6 torqs screws in the remaining holes in thicker part of the tailgate. The Bronco panel will have a black reflector strip just as the F-150 does but instead of "FORD" in chrome lettering it will have only a blue oval "FORD" emblem on the far drivers side and will have a small hole where the power rear window switch is located so you can use a key to roll down the window to access the back. These Bronco panels are also attached by 8 acorn nuts (4 drivers side, 4 passenger side) and 2 clips in the center. I hope this helps you out.
You can use a tailgate from a years '87-'91 or '92-'96. These years were slightly different in just front sheet metal. The only thing that changed on the back was the taillight lenses and the aluminum panel on the tailgate has a red reflector instead of a black one. I would try ebay, Jeffs Bronco Graveyard or another reputable parts supplier. Maybe even a junk yard if your looking for used but most of the time they are pretty beat up anyways. I'd expect to pay around $350-400 for a OEM New and $100-150 for a aftermarket. Be warned though, aftermarket...especially china crap has been know to fit really bad. Hope this helps.
P.S. The new tailgates are just the skin...no latches or handles.
RMS94, if you are referring to the '87-'91 and '92-'96 tailgates not being the same I can tell you that they are. There should be no differnece at all. All these years will swap together with no modofications.
Not talking about switching F150 tailgates. My '94 f150 aluminum trim has a big dent in it. I saw a 92-96 Bronco in the junkyard today and its aluminum trim panel was in good condition. So I was wondering if I could replace my 94 F150's trim piece with the one from the Bronco.
Ahh...ok...yeah I checked my service manual...won't fit. I did see a panel though on ebay brand new in box for a f-150 that would fit. I think he wanted like $50 for it. Good Luck.
I've got aftermarket parts from lcm trucks and I will say they fit really well. Your panel has key hole f!50 dose not . Well good luck Look in the buy it now on bottom of ebay . There are things listed in there not on reglar ebay good luck.
