Hey Everybody, new here. I have a 2005 F 150 XLT and i'm about to put a good amount of money in it with a suspension lift kit, exhaust system, new tires and wheels. just wondering what your favorite type of mods and brands might be before i spend the money and install it. Thanks
I had a flowmaster 40 series, but ended up changing over to straight pipes for more sound. I love the Edge Evo for a programmer, Volant for my intake, Carriage Works for my billet grill, Westin bull bar, Extang tonneau cover, WeatherTech visors, Nifty Xtreme floor mats, Coverking Neoprenene seat covers, Wheel Skin wheel covers, Al Electric power windows, Line of Fire LEDs, Durakon bed liner, Audiobahn back up sensor and back up camera for my Panasonic double din DVD head unit along with Panasonic 3 way speakers, Valentine 1 radar detector, StreetGlow Gold Series underbody neons, Viper keyless entry system, Ford black tubular running boards, Ford mud flaps, BFGoodrich AT KO 33" tires on 17" MB Predator wheels, 3M black undercoating on rear wheel wells, Recon 3rd LED brake light, BlingLights 8000k HIDs, Sylvania Silverstar Turn Signals, LED parking lights, Nokyo 3000k fog lights, Westing fogs on my bull bar, G.A.P. guards from F150store, 8" Bazooka tube, debadged the 4x4 sticker as well as the STX stickers, Duplicolor brake caliper paint, 2.5" AutoSpring leveling kit. I think I got them all......Happy modding and let the mod bug get to ya
If you're gonna lift it then go with fabtech, tires and wheels everyone will have their own preference but I sell the most of Moto Metal, Helo and Diamos with Nitto Terra Grapplers dominating the tire scene. Carriageworks Billet Grilles. If you like chrome then putco. Westin bull guards are popular along with pocket flares from bushwacker (kind of a must if you decide to offset your tires to stick out for an offroad type look due to gravel kicking up). Exhaust wise corsa and flowmaster are both popular. Remember, when you do lift it to put a tuner on it. Edge makes a good one with 3 different levels and you can put your tire size in to help out the transmission and speedo correction and the 375 you'll spend for the edge will be much cheaper than a tranny or a ticket. It's mostly up to you what brands you put on but I would say defenitely go with the Fabtech for the lift kit as it's a knuckle lift and not an upper a arm drop. Check out my gallery...have a wide variety of stuff on my truck to look at and decide what you like.
Welcome to the site!! We have tons of performance stuff, and lots of knowledge SPECIFICALLY with your truck.
As far as performance mods, the ones that have tested best are
BamaChips custom tuner
Magnaflow Exhaust
Volant or JLT intake
There are a few other bolt ons you can do too. I dont know much about the lifts on these trucks, but I can answer any questions you may have about performance parts!!
