identifie this trans
ok im tryin to identifie the trans in my truck. on the truck is says I for the trans code, i know its an AOD, but i wanna know weather itsa aod or aode?
please help..

Easy, no AOD-E in the trucks/bronco!
'85-'93 could have the AOD (trans code T, there is no I) and a display of PRN(D)D1
However '94-'96 F-150s could have the 4R70w, which replaced the AOD-E in the cars, but the plane ole mechanical AOD is what you have.

ok. now hears why i asked, i swaped out my e4od to the aod with xfer case, cause my e40d was gettin ready to take a crap. now that i got the trans in the truck it wont shift outta first gear, im also havein a hell of a time gettin all the fluid in the converter. so the other question is will low fluid keep it in first?

it was set the same as it was in the other truck. lettin off of the gas doest make it shift either. the tranny worked perfect befor the swap

ok, i just flushed the tranny, and it shifts fine in 1-2 but 3-od is inconsistant. also i still have no down shifts. think it would be as simple as a tv cable? the one i have works fine, glides no binds in movement. ima try adjustment
