Crazy ignition problem...
ok, my name is Aaron and im new to this site but i have a problem with my truck. I have a 1997 f250 ext cab with the 5.4L in it. It is the old f150 body style. but i just put a 3 inch body lift on it and i went to start it up because the battery went dead while i was doing it cuz i left doors open and listengin to the radio and whatnot. but i went to jump the battery and i then go turn the key and it slllloooowly cranks, hardly at all. but i know that is because the jump it needs to be recharged, but the big problem is that once turned the key back it still was cranking over....any ideas, because im afraid to actualyl jump it and it not want to stop cranking over and i end up breaking things like a starter or whatever...

Low voltage will sometimes overheat the starter relay contacts and make them stick. I believe your truck has a starter relay like the older Fords, and also a starter solenoid on the starter itself. Either one could be stuck.
If it unsticks itself, just charge the battery up overnight on a small charger or get some decent sized jumper cables and jump it. If it's still stuck, take the handle of a screwdriver and rap on the starter relay(I believe it's mounted on the firewall) and or on the starter solenoid on the starter itself, to try to break it free.
