I posted this in the Older Bronco and 48 thru whatever forums to no avail thus far....maybe someone here can help me:
I have a '56 project with a Donar Dana Rear End Differential which I would like to Identify and from what vehicle it came from:
Ring Gear is stamped DANA 12 12 58 30 933 A3R41 55-19
I therefore know it is a 2.89 - 1 ratio.
10 bolts on Inspection Cover, no removeable 3rd member, 3 1/2" wide brake shoes, 61 1/4" outside axle flange to outside axle flange.
Yes, 5 on 5 1/2.....a fella on the Early Bronco forum asked if it had finned drums....and it does ....and he thinks it is a 62 - 64 HiPo Galaxie as that is what they used.
The article mentioned here gave no clues. appreciate all the help.

WHOA...I didn't say that...I merely pointed out that the early HiPo Galaxies used finned drums.
All the HiPO Galaxies used 9 inch rear ends.
Your Dana 3rd member with the high speed rear end, finned drums and oversized brakes gave me the idea that the rear end you have, may have come from a race car of some sort.
3 1/2 inch wide rear brakes are VERY unusual on any rear end...even a F350 never used rear brakes that large.
