auto locking hub
I just bought a 2000 f250 4x4 with the lock and auto hub on the driver side when i put the switch i 4x4 mode and in auto nothing happens when i put it in lock nothing happens until i move the passenger hub which has no macking for lock or auto what is the problem and how do i fix the problem also should it not go in 4x4 when in auto any help would be great thank you

You have a vacuum problem with the hub. Look through plenty of the threads here in the SD section, that regard the same problems, and you will see where the problem may be, or at least where to start looking, You are not the first with this problem, and as long as Ford builds trucks with the ESOF system, you will not be the last.
I am sure that when you manually lock the hubs (both) the problem goes away.
In my opinion the best fix would be to buy manual hubs, and forget the problem all together. It could be the best $200.00 you will ever spend on your SD.

I checked the vacum and it was very minimal i even tried to hook the line for the interior vent to see if the vacum would switch it into 4x4 but no luck did have more vacum but still did not work also only went into 4x4 low one time when engaged on the dash what could that problem be as stated before the truck does work in 4x4 with the hubs in the lock mode any help would be great.
