Under Hood Question
While Searching For The Proper Fitting, It Appears To Fit On A Servo/or Control Valve Which Is Fixed To A Heater Hose Which Runs From The Right Side Head And Into The Firewall. I Do Not Want To Connect The Tube To This In Case It Is Not The Proper Place.
Can Anyone Offer Any Assistance As Ford Would Probably Charge Me Just To Answer My Question!
This is what I see under my hood...
To the right of the compressor, there is a little T-fitting of some type with 3 coolant (i guess) hoses, one of which attaches to a port on the intake manifold/engine/head. The other two go somewhere else (i think through the firewall). On top of this T is a 3-4" black diaghram looking thing with a little grey hose that attaches to it. If this is the grey hose you are talking about, it is very small, maybe a few mm in diameter. I didnt get a chance to trace it, but I only saw one.
Basically, if the little diaghram thing doesn't have a hose on it, and you have a hose that fits, I'd sayyou are probably ok to plug it in.
If I had to guess, I think that that is some type of vacuum hose that opens a valve in the hose T. I heard somewhere that the A/C is cooler if the engine doesn't pump hot coolant through the heater coil thing. So I think that when the heater is activated, it opens a valve in the T (via the little Grey hose) to either open or close the coolant path. But thats just a guess.
good luck and I hope that helps!
Isaac
