I just bought a 1970 F250 Highboy and it has 16.5 inch rims on it. It is hard finding tires so I am looking to go with a 16' inh rim if I can or a 17. What is the bolt pattern on it? It has a Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear...8 lug. Any info would be helpful.
Before 97 the bolt pattern in inches, later metric and will not fit.
Stay away from 8 bolt chebbie rims, they have a smaller center hole
that will not fit over a Ford 3/4 Dana hub.
older ford and dodge 8lugs will swap.you can get pretty much get any size wheel from 15" on up for 8 lug just depends on how much ya want to spend. if ya go to a junkyard to get some rims stay away from split rim you wont find anyone to to change tires on them
Adding to the above reply, when looking for rims in the wreckers mount them on an axle and check 'em for runout, flat spots and wobble. You may spend hours with 30 rims but it is worth it in a smooth ride and wheels that stay in balance. Measure the center hole.

on drum brake 3/4tons 15s will fit i have a set out here they 15x10 chromespokes that come of my old 74 hiboy with 8 lug they wont fit disc brakes tho they hit the caliper
wizzard, Check the inside of one of your wheels for Ford Oval ID next time you have one off. 15" wheels were pretty much limited to the half ton, and no chrome.
I am pretty sure that you have an aftermarket wheel, if it is chrome, 8 lug, and 15 in.
yeah John theey are aftermarket spokes cost me something like 50bucks a peice 10-15years ago to have them made i wanted to use the swampers of my old bronco on my 250 idont need them any more trucks long gone.oh yaeh thanks for the email about that? i had merry christmas
When buying rims for that 4x4 with drum up front watch your back spacing on rims that you want. If it's more then 4 inch the right tie-rod will rub the rim. Not many dealers make the 8 lug 15inch rims any more due to saftly as, I been told. And now 16.5 tires our not being made by all the tire Co's now so price goes up on those. I just switched to 16's meself from those 8x15 old white spokes for that reasson. they cracked and leaked air...my 2cents
orich
If they're the stock rims drop me an email when your new ones. I'm looking for original equipment 16.5 rims for my 70 highboy. I'm in San Diego California.
I have a new set of black Unique rims I bought for my 1967 F-250 Highboy...and they are 15x12's 8-hole pattern....got a great deal on them through my local Discount Tire Shop. Also got a great set of BFG 33's to put on them in the same place....I think the whole thing cost me less than $800.
