I have a 1959 Ford Panel Truck. It's a Hot Road project already started. It has a GM chassis under it right now. (It's junk!) I want to change to Ford (mid '70's or newer). I need to know what the original wheelbase is or what newer Ford chassis will work under it. Any help??
Just to toss in here my 58 panel (110" wb) is going onto a
79 F150 4x4 chassis. I should add I'm a weldor by trade so
frame mods are my cup of tea(or pint of ale).

The '58 panel wheelbase (110") should be the same as the '59, thanks alot. I plan on putting mine on a Ford car chassis to lower. Looking for chassis with disc brakes. I also do welding, but not for a living. But I know enough to make me dangerous.
Thanks again.
jc: the licoln frame your thinking about is to big. you could sub-fame but I don't recommend it.plus the frame is not flat like a truck frame so it will not just bolt up. plus any car frame will not fit unless subframing it.I would just get a 57 to 60 ford truck frame that is 110 size and that is a shortbox frame. I would put a plymoth volare subframe like a 1978 lebaron on it.the lebaron front end has the disc brakes and power stearing and it is the ford car bolt patner 5 on 4 1/2.I have one on my 59 panel and it works great. I had it up to a buck forty five and had no problems at all.I WOULD NOT CHANGE IT FOR THE WORLD.You can get the patner from bob's f100.
P>S if you get up that fast, get speed rated tires over 120mph.
Hello Everyone;
I am the proud new owner of a 1960 F150 Panel Truck. It does not have a motor or tran. and I am very open to ANY and ALL ideas as to what to drop into it.
Any other tips. ideas, or suggestions are very valued by me.
I live just outside of Seattle, Wa.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that your panel was powered by a 429.
I have some very lofty performance goals for my 1960 pickup (photos in my gallery). In order to meet those goals, I am currently doing design work to see what configuration will get me there.
Do you know the HP output of the engine which carried you to 145 mph? If not, what modifiications had you made to the engine?
