Question Heater Identification ?

I have the heater out of my 48.The only mark on it is a rasied 7 with a line thur it.It's on the front right lower corner of the housing. It has a motor with a shaft out each end.1 end has a fan blade the other has a squirrel cage on it.My wife says the mark on the front is a European 7.Any help would be great.
THANKS

heater id

I believe that 7 is actually a fancy script f denoting ford. I have several of these heaters in my trucks and am pretty sure it's an f.

Art....I just used voltage reducers on mine, one for each blower speed (mine is a 2 speed) and it works great. I suppose the later 12V ford motors will work but you might have to modify the shaft. There was some info posted recently on these heater motors, like early december.

I think my motor only has 2 wires 1 ground and 1 hot wire.Might use a reducer.I still have to change out the 2 wires coming out of the motor. They have bare places in them.Is there away to change blower speed on a motor like this?

Most factory motors were internally grounded, so a 2-wire would be a 2-speed. But the only way to tell would be to test it. Get a counter guy (or gal) who is sympathetic to let you browse the Siemens catalog, there aren't that many that used the double-ended shaft. Have all your measurements in hand -- shaft length, diameter, motor case length, etc.

I just checked my motor over and it has a ground wire that hooks to the body of the heater and 1 hot wire. All looks to be factory.I may just replace the old wires and use the motor I have. it works great. But I will see if i can find a 12 volt replacement motor and how much frist.
Thanks for the help.
