Hello all. I am new here and I am trying to find my grandfathers old truck, this may be wierd but I have been looking for this vehicle for the last year. If you could help point me in the right direction that would be great. Anyway it was a 1960 F100 stepside pickup, it had a straight 6 with a 4 speed with a granny gear. When it was sold it was rattle can painted flat black. It was sold here in Oregon about 2 years ago. If you guys could help me in any way please let me know. I will check back here often or you could email me at Gburnett@aaaautosource.com I know this is probably a lost cause but I can not stop looking until I know what happened to this truck. Thank you for your time.
where at in Oregon was it sold?? I am in southern oregon and know of a few trucks for sale but have'nt seen any stepsides or black ones, I hope we can help you, sounds like a cool search...finding an old family truck to restore.
Hmmm... do you have any copy's of an old title or have the vin #? I know some states, the DMV can search to see how many 1960 fords are registered. I'll keep an eye out for you! Good luck, -4speed
If you have the old vin # or even the old license plate # you could probably track it through the DMV.
They might be able to tell you exactly where it is and who the current owner is!
It was sold up in milwaukie area, I am still looking into old photographs and the such to see if I have any pieces that would be able to help me locate the owner. Unfortunately the DMV up here is not very willing to help me with it(which is understandable). So the search continues. Thank you for the help guys.
Try to contact your DMV at different times and talk to different people. I have found some DMV employees to be extremely helpful while others are are just plain horrible people (probably drive a ch**y). Good luck.
Hope it works out for you. I tried looking for dad`s 53 F350 but too many years had gone by and the trail ended up in a dead end. I still haven`t given up all hope but I`m not expecting to find it any time soon.
You never know....I had an old Ford coupe that I drove to the StreetRod Nationals in 1973, then sold it. At work we had a new guy transfer in. I was looking at some pictures he had and saw my old coupe. I said, I used to own that car. He laughed and said that was impossible, he bought that car years ago from a guy who said it had been his family forever. My wife saves the paper work on every car and bike I've owned sinse we've been married. (35 years). It's a huge pile that she waves in my face when I start talking about another project. LOL. Anyway, the next day I took him the registration paperwork with the vin # and my name on it. He said he would take it home and compare, but he assured me I had never owned it. Needless to say, he came in the next day, with a very, very red face. He still talks about "that lying basta*d" that sold him the car....anyway, don't give up!
