They are on the driver's side front, in parallel wi the the fender. The mounting brackets attach to the inner fender and the other to the engine side of the tool box to hold the winshield wahser / collant overflow container thing.
Notice the overflow bottle attached to it on the left side.
81 That's really nice. I also see a bracket between the overflow bottle and the tool box. I am going to look for one after I get some work done on my truck.
Thanks seems yall have good interior parts and such up there. Down here it gets used up or the sun & heat kills them, seems to get hotter each spring and summer here every year . It's going to be 70 degrees here tomorrow and 67 Sunday here.
I know what you mean. It is to be around 50-55 here in SE PA and raining! The reason I collect these parts is simple, the salvage yard is a "pick-a-part" and they end up crushing the stuff before they have been gone through. Plus, it was a good learning education to learn how these things all go together. Plus, I would always try to help another fellow FTE member find a part, etc
Notice the overflow bottle attached to it on the left side.
That has got to be the slickest little toolbox I have ever seen! I did the same thing with an old .30 ammo can on my old 83 F-150, but I never thought that Ford offered an underhood toolbox as an option.
I do believe that the next time I go out to the "playground", I'm going to have to look for one of those gol-darned thingy-ma-bobs.
I did just find a like-new cargo light off of another 86 F-250 for the rear of 'ol Hoss, so I'm getting ready to cut some metal and install it soon. I'm tired of not being able to see in the bed at night.
Big Hoss - did you also take the wiring harness? Also, may as wel and ad the deluxe dome light w/ map lights too if you grabbed the harness. I added the factory cab light and harness to my 1985 F-350 (will update gallery to show) using the factory harness as well.
The light I grabbed only had 2 wires on it. I had thought of getting the deluxe interior light, but I don't really need it. The standard light works really well.
I'm just going to wire the cargo light up with a lighted toggle switch on the instrument panel. I don't want the light to come on when I open the driver side door, just when I turn it on.
