Depends on the year truck you have. My 02 stock had 275 HP with 525lbs torque. Actually more HP means more fuel. However it takes less throttle to get up to speed and maintain it so a good econo tune will increase your mileage based on your right foot control

IIRC hp rating is 250, i dont think the 7.3s in ford trucks ever were rated for anymore then 250, Stock anyways
I saw that the truck your looking at is an early 99, i think they were rated for 225ish? Someone correct me if im wrong.

250 for the auto, 275 for the 6 speed. (you made me hunt for that one ) according to ford's 2001 press release.
Three different engines are available. The standard 5.4L SOHC Triton™ V-8 is rated at 260 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. The 7.3L Power Stroke® turbo diesel V-8 produces 250 horsepower (15 more than last year) and 505 lb.-ft. of torque with the automatic transmission, and 275 horsepower and 520 lb.-ft. of torque when joined to a manual transmission (late availability).

I guess i never think to look at the difference in power between a standard vs automatic. It doesnt seem like there should be IMO but im just a driver, not a manufacturer
