ignition switch problem? '93 f150

i have a had this prob before, but can't remember the fix because it was so many miles/years ago. the ignition is hard to turn and gets locked up now when i try to start the truck. i think its that switch on the column needing replaced, because if i remember right my old one that came on the truck was chrome and they had to replace it a few yrs ago w/ a black one. unfortunately i guess that part is worthless and i'm going to have to buy another one. does this sound like what it is?

I have had this problem on an 89 bronco. i forced the ignition with a crecent wrench, with the key in place, and havent had a problem since. But beware it will either fix the ignition or break it completely so dont try it unless your wiling to buy a new ignition
