Ok...the panel of insulation that's stuck to the bottom of the hood, is it a necessary item? I ripped mine reallllly nicely today and am wondering if I need to have it there or if it's just a show item, per say?
lol...well...it took some mad skills actually. I removed it to clean it and to fix a wiring issue with the underhood light. It sat in the garage...the Silverado tire ended up on it, and without noticing I grabbed and pulled. When it didn't come, in my genius, I pulled again, and it found a weak point and voila, the whole thing was in half.
I figured it wasn't necessary but wanted to make sure. Thank you.
Aren't those made that if the engine catches fire, the tabs that hold it on will melt and let it fall on the engine to help smother the fire. It's made out of flame retadent material or something. At least thats what I've heard, it's a neat idea if it's true, anyone else know if that is indeed one of it's functions.
