I wore out a set of the Craftsman lug nut removal tools which are a large version of the nut remover tools. The steel on the locks wore the flutes down.

I've let the cougar sit because I've been busy with my trucks but have to get back on that problem.

I only use 3/8 and 1/2 air hoses with my air tools.

O.k. I got these off. I jused my cutoff tool to notche them little to create a slot sort of like a straight screwdriver, but without cutting into the stud. I then used the airhammer. I finally got the front ones off after about 30 minutes of hammering. The front were tough. One of them came to pieces. The back ones came off real easy compared to the front. I didn't mimimum marring to one of the front wheels but it was inside the cap. I broke the tip off of one of the studs but I'll have the tire place change it out when I get tires. I have a few pics that I'll put in the album later. I wanted to "finish up" this thread. It drives me up the wall when I find a thread of interest an there is now explaination of the results.

Back in the olden days,if it was a McGard lugnut,I'd trace the pattern and send it to 'em and they'd send a new key.Otherwise,I used the weld on a nut method.
