Thinwall, though not the thinest. The biggest trick is the material used. Chrome vanadium, doesn't have the strength of Chrome Molybendum. CV, is the thicker wall sockets, also what some of the first gen air sockets were closer to.
I have Craftsman Impact Deepwell sockets(metric & sae) and and Stanley sae Deep. Ironically, the Stanley are thinner walled. IR are also thin walled iirc.
I have been buying, using, and abusing the Northern Tools impact sockets for years with no problems. Possible there is a local store too.
The 60 sockets in a carrying case for $50 is a good deal. I have even used the impact sockets to remove locking lugnuts by hammering them on and then taking them off with an impact.
Other then that, maybe the Husky sockets at Home Depot.
I have craftsman deep and shallow. I've had them for three years now and have only replaced one of them. They are used and abused on a daily basis. I've had to replace my mac and snapon sockets several times. I also have some SK and they also have held up really good.
Not even a snap-on impact socket set is that expensive.
It's usually the chromed sockets that kill your wallet.
According to the Snapon online store at this moment, a 9 piece 1/2 drive deepwell set with 1/2 to 1" sockets is on sale for $204. That's the industrial finish. Your wallet must be stronger than mine!

What is your gross annual income?
204 dollars for a set of sockets does not seem like THAT much to me. I have Snap-on 1/2 in. drive deep and shallow, metric and sae and have never broken one.

My income is better than many but not as good as some. I guarantee you that I make more than many if not most professional mechanics, but since this is my hobby, I'll make do with my 12 piece metric and 12 piece sae deep well craftsman impact socket sets that sells for around $80 each that I got half off during a clearance sale. Even without the sale, $80 for 12 sockets vs. $204 for 9 seems like a better option. They are American made and sears will exchange them if they break.
This stuff adds up when you factor in extensions, good impact wrench and all the other tools.
