1999 with dana 50 front diff?? No posi options?

Hi,

I have a '99 superduty F-250, extended cab, powerstroke with a failed front differential. I need to get it rebuilt and want to have a detroit true-trac or some other limited slip installed while the the whole thing is being taken appart.

Now for the surprises:

I am told that the front end is a Dana 50, not a Dana 60.

Further, there are no aftermarket limited slip options for a Dana 50.

Does this sound right?

Do I have to hunt down a used Dana 60 just to get an aftermarket limited slip in my front differential?

Thanks,

Jon

Yes, it can be a DANA 50. This from the Randy's ring and pinion site:

Dana Spicer D50 Years Used on F250: (1980 - 2004)
Ford front end, found in both straight axle and independent front suspensions. Identifiable by outside clips on axle u/joints.

They also list multiple locker and limited slip options for the D50 differential.
