Todd, when you say you are amazed how it runs... Do you mean it runs better than the first engine, or that you forgot how it was to have a truck 100%?
Better than the first engine? This is still the first engine. I bought a second to have as a spare parts engine.
As for better, I mean you hit the gas and scream "HOLY CRAP" as you go flying down the road. It's almost scary fast. My buddy that did the work drags Pro-Street class and he was impressed by it as well. He's also ordering new tires even though I said I don't need them yet. I'm thinking I'll be putting them on next week. It smokes the tires at half-throttle!!
I'm not surprised it runs!! I didn't do most of the work!! A pro did!! lol
I am surprised it fired as quick as it did. I thought since it was dry that the oil and fuel systems would have a ton of air in them and it would take a day to get it bled out. But, it started within 30 mins of trying, ran in the parking lot on high idle for 3 hours, got hammered around town in Tow program for about 20 minutes and has been in Race program since and I just can't take my foot off the pedal!!
I with you Ryan. I thought diesels were very reliable, but then he said he had to by a spare motor to keep on hand just in case. You might as well have bought two trucks.

They are reliable, when kept stock. But now I'm pushing it's limits. The spare is mainly for the block, crank and rods. Just in case mine develops a picture window.
