Sacramento Vintage Ford sells them. They use the heavier duty Chrysler torsion bar suspensions. The torsion bars run parallel with the frame and hook into a crossmember mounted somewhere midship of the truck.

Thanks for the quick response. I believe I can rule that one out I like the idea of a FORD Mustang IFS better.

Thanks Charles

You've had both so what differences did you note? What were they on and what size engine did they have? I've pretty much decided that I will use the Mustang IFS with the large disc brake package but would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks Charles

Both the mustang frnt suspension and the chrysler (gibbons) were on 1955 F100s. I purchased both compleated. I like the chrysler because it is adjustable. You can change ride highth and, more important, can adjust side to side highth. Both ride fine. darrellmed(No Email Addresses In Posts!)

I don't mean to 'butt in' hear, but if you don't mind -

How do they compare cost-wise? Comparing the Gibbons to a Mustang II coil-over setup. (since coil-over is also fully adjustable ride heights)

Do they have a catalog or any literature etc??

Thanks

Sacramento Vintage Ford sells them (you guys should get some vendor catalogs-yes you have to pay for some of them but they are very informative) and the raw crossmember kit for the Gibbons is $50.00 higher than the mustang II. But, the mustang has dinky brakes (9" discs) which people usually upgrade which =$$$. The coil over shock you mentioned is an upgrade which = $$$. I keep reading the mustang II's for trucks are wider than others and require special extensions which = $$$.

I have a 57 F100 which is a wider frame than the 53 - 56. The widening kit is $150. I plan to buy a Fat Man Fabrications unit. I will have about $1100 in everything (Mustang donor parts, ECI brake kit, Power steering, and Crossmember kit). I feel that the Mustang parts will be available for many years to come and they will be affordable due to its popularity. I'm not sure about the Chrysler parts.

My two cents worth!

Thanks Charles
