You should follow the diagnostics to see WHY you have a failure.

This fault code can be caused by a faulty PCM, a faulty wiring harness or connector, internal wiring int he transmsission, or a faulty solenoid.

Are you feeling lucky enough to just start replacing stuff?

Is the tranny shifting OK? Many times the sensor contacts become loose or dirty. Try cleaning them first, then reset the codes and see if they come back. If so, a good procedure to trouble shoot that code can be found off the motorcraft website for a nominal fee.

My Expy keeps throwing the code every 30-45 days after I reset it. Tranny shifts fine, so I'm guessing I have sensor contacts that are loose or dirty. Can you give me a detailed explanation (or picture) where these sensor contacts are? I'm not much of a car guy but willing to tackle jobs like these.

Thanks

Unfortunately, the guy who said that had no clue what he was talking about as there is no sensor that can cause this fault code.

You might have a connector problem where the harness plugs into the transmission. I'd suggest disconnecting the battery, then reseating the transmission's electrical connector to see if it's an intermittent mating problem. Inspect the pins for evidence of corrosion, damage, or for a pushed pin.

If the problem re-occurs, then you'll need more intensive diagnostic work.
