I would like to know if anyone out there has done an extended cab for a 56 F-100, if so could someone send me diagrams, pictures, methods, or what procedures you took to complete it or if you know of a web site that has the procedures. I want to add about 20" to the cab and also thinking about adding a 3rd door on one side.
Thanks
There were several at PF 2001 and the photos are on my website. I looked at the construction photos and it didn't look all that difficult (I realize that is a relative term!). However, it is a lot of work.
I observed an acquaintance create an extended cab on a '40 Chev PU and it was simply cutting and welding. He also added a retractible sunroof from an AUDI or VW.
Check out the member trucks @ FTE and write the owners for their tips.

There is currently an extended cab on ebay. Look under "Collector Cars" and then under "Ford" and finally under "Pickups". I have also seen a 1956 Cab-Over-Engine made into a crew cab, and that one was really sweet.
