Please Help. I Replaced Turbo W/remanuf,got Rid Of All Codes
Have Great Engine Horsepower, Low Turbo Boost.
Have Mechanical Waste Gate
Bullydog Tuner
Early 99 W/200 K Miles
Please Tell Me Places To Look
Start by checking for leaks. Intercooler boots need to be on all the way and tight. Also the up-pipe clamp on the back of the turbo can be a pain to line up, so check for a leak back there.
Make sure your wastegate actuator rod is adjusted properly. If you just lined it up with the connector and clipped it on, then it's too loose. Once the rod is lined up, you tighten it down several turns (usually 4-6), then use air pressure on the actuator to extend the rod and slide it over the wastegate arm.
Also check your map sensor hose, as well as all other connections to make sure nothing was missed. Look under the turbine housing and make sure the EBPV actuator arm is connected properly.
BTW, what is your boost right now? Do you have excessive smoke? If you have good power, low egt's, and no smoke, then I'd think the gauge is defective or it wasn't reconnected properly.
I Have No Smoke Good Egt's And Good Horsepower, but I Don't Have The Put You In Seat Pull Like It Ought To.
I Also Noticed Just Today That At Idle It Is Skipping
I Will Pull The Valve Cover For Connections
Anything Else To Look For While I'm There
It Also Won't Break The Tires Loose Anymore,
But Still Pulls Well
It Really Feels Like The Turbo Is Not Spooling All The Way.
I Pull 15 Lbs. At Wot. Pre Turbo Replace I Pulled 22lbs.
And Even Then It Did Not Pull As Hard As I Thought It Ought To.
It Would Break The Tires Loose, But Barely.
Working On The Stuff Ya'll Mentioned And I Appreciate It Very Much.
I Have One More Question Now Though.
I Put My Pyro On Exhaust Side And Have Since Learned It Needs To Be On Manifold Side.
Now To Show My Ignorance, Will Someone Please Put There
Finger On That Spot For Me.
