Im new to this forum, I can usaly be found in the "pre powerstroke" forum. I am looking at a 99 f350 with a 7.3 and a six speed. I am wanting to know if there are any major problems That seem to be common with this set up. It has 200,000 miles on it and I was hoping " if its any thing like my 6.9 idi" that it would be good for well over 200,000 miles. thanks in advance
Here's some good stuff to look at on these trucks: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...questions.html
About the most frequent issue is the Cam Sensor but they can be had on ebay for 50 bucks and installed in 15 minutes.
The 6 speed is very reliable might be about due for a clutch at 200K though.
I wouldn't say that the ZF6 is any better than the 4R100 anymore.
I bought my truck because it had all levers, no ESOF or anything.
Now I'm finding that my overdrive gear is weak and I ruined it towing my trailer.
And the cost of a rebuilt ZF6 is nearly as much as a BTS.
