3900, 1000 core, shipping ? 500 maybe. Warranty, lifetime. On paper, it's 2 years. In reality, sounds like its indefinate, so long as you're following instructions and not doing something silly. (okay, example, putting a new trans on and not changing out a cooler that's obviously clogged and fragged)
Now, if you're willing to make the trip, you save the shipping, you don't worry about the core, and they install gratis. Worth it? Unless you're immobile (which you might be), probably.

$3900 plus fluid if installed there, or $3900 plus shipping and installation. Warrenty is second to NONE! Two year "written" warrenty for damage due to ANY CAUSE, then Brian will take care of you for LIFE, may have to pay small fee for rebuild/update/fluid. You will not be dissappointed! If you can, make every attempt to drive down to LEAD HILL AK. They have an incredible shop, and are wonderful people!

I have a cousin that drives a truck, he said that he can pick up the trans at least I'll save the shipping. 3900.00 really aint bad considering that P.O.S jasper cost me 2400.00 the warrenty is still in on it but this is the third one I've had blow up since May of this year, the stocker, a jasper and now another jasper.I use the truck to pull a 31' boat and thats it so it really don't get worked that hard, other than my heavy,PMS infested right foot

Yeah, I know a guy that went through three Jaspers and ended up selling his 7.3 because he was tired of the garbage trans. He was running banks stuff/chip, nothing "big" and still had horrible problems. I would not mess w/ Jasper again. Buy BTS and NEVER LOOK BACK! Best mod I have ever done to the truck. Nothing like knowing you can do nearly anything and be okay! I give my truck hell, and have had ZERO problems!

Before your jasper tranny croaked, did either of them ever cause your OD light to flash or throw any codes or did they just crapt out? thanks.

Thats scary sounding. i fount out the other day my truck has a jasper tranny in it and the tranny was purchased in 02. that is what jasperengines told me when i called and gave them the number off the side of the tranny. My tranny has thrown a code and the od light has flashed on me, but then it went away and hear recently it has been doing alright.

Does anyone think it would be a good ideal to put like a bully dog shift kit or maybe like one of brian truck stops valve bodies in it to help with tranny life?

this last trans had a bts valvebody in it and it shifted better but it is not a cure all. the first trans did set a code I can't remember the # but it was something to do with the shift solinoid and it could not be repaired at a reasonable price. I guess I was just lucky to get 170000 out of it, thats better than most

I'll second the BTS notion, but it sounds like you're already there. And I can speak personally for Brian's warranty. I had a problem with a TC (the trans itself was fine), that was bad from the start. I was in CO with Brian when it blew. Brian hauled it back to AR, took me with him, and had me back on the road within 4 hours of arriving back in Lead Hill....all after an 18 hour drive from CO. And, the only thing it cost me was a slight delay in my trip back to MO. I was due back at noon (had the TC not fried), made it home at about 9:00 pm. Oh, and what blew the TC - staging and building boost at the dragstrip - while Brian was watching.

I'm thinking $3900 for the tranny, plus the $1k for the core, you have none but may be able to do something with the manual, plus the associated linkage, column shift hardware, pcm, and wiring, let alone the cooling concerns = not worth it to me.

You're right. The BTS valve body (or ANY other manufacturer's VB) is not going to fix what's MECHANICALLY wrong with the transmission...or the weak links in the transmission. The valve body is just that; a cast piece of aluminum with a few spool valves and springs in it that change position to direct trans fluid to certain fluid "circuits" to cause servos and clutch pistons to move. You're not doing anything to get rid of weak links like sprags, roller clutches, or any other mechanical part that might use splines or teeth to hold torque.

When you see stories like this one, where is the decision at? I didn't see I had much of a choice. BTS or take my chances.

Now, if your friendly service manager were watching in the stands and you had a Ford reman or Jasper reman, you think any of them would warranty it? Probably term it abuse and say "good luck"

I'll even toss in my $0.02 worth. I bought his VB and by bad luck, my diode froze up and took the trans with it. You could smell the burnt fluid and see the debris when we drained the pan. Brian gave me credit for the VB. After it has been overheated and has debris in it, I can't be sure I would do the same.
