It's there, a lot of times the heat makes them break up and fall out over time. I'm glad that you got good wires and other components. If you got the "Blue Streak" set from advance that's a very good one, it's even an improvement over the factory set.
For sure I'll look at that next time I'm under the hood! like tomarrow! also I was told that electric component on the drivers side fender, behind the battery may cause a miss! So I may swap that out from my parts van! and we'll see what happens! thanks!
It does still go bad; however it's not common. Once they moved it to the fender instead of the distributor it really helped with reliability. I had a '92 E150 with a 351 in it that had 185k+ on the original module when I sold it.
I owe mrfixit64857 an apology! I over looked the little thing! it is there! one piece! so I'm back too either the wires or a plug!
pfogle-- my van has 239,986.6 or close to it miles on it, I put a reman long block in it close to two years now! I replaced the the two air sensors on the intake and a new map sensor, and swapped out the fuel pressure valve. the only thing I thinking of where those little colored plastic vacuum lines could have a leak in them. hard too tell if they are leaking!
No apologies needed mate. I get a little blurry eyed dealing with these things my own self, lol.
Did you check the vaccuum to the map sensor? I think I mentioned it before, but those hoses have been known to slip off that manifold, ESPECIALLY after a tune-up. heck, even a backfire can pop em off...
Pull the plugs again. See if you have one that's clean. If you do check that wire. The number one wire is a bitch to get on. I know from experience. It's the most common one to cause a miss.
I'm checking that today! I sit on the door step backwards so I can get my left arm in there! I found this was the easyest for me! too access too #1 plug!
I just tuned my 95 E-150 5L and bought all MotoCraft parts from Rock Auto Parts online. Fast delivery and a few bucks more. But after reading all the posts about the right parts I only wanted to do it once. MotoCraft all the way.
