Hi all, my first post here. So here we are in the middle of winter in Montana, and the heater on my F 250 has gone out. This truck is a very early 97 model with the old body style, and has a powerstroke. The heater motor blows, but I cannot get hot air out of any of the positions on the heater control. The AC works fine. I looked behind the glove box and found the little flapper valve which controls the feed of hot air into the duct system, it looks to be operating as it should. Any suggestions as to where to look next? THANX!
Thank's for the welcome!...nope, I checked the thermo first thing...not that many moving parts between point a and b, I wonder if there is a relay switch or something of the kind involved?
Traced it down to the heater core...warmed things up and the input line is warm, while the return stays cold even after cycling the controls...oh well!
You should try backflushing that heater core with a garden hose. I have had a problem similar to yours in 2 vehicles and both times, the reverse flush fixed it without causing any leaks.
