...and rather than me pull the box out, take the chip off of a circuit board, send that in, and try to reinstall the chip on a circuit board, and reinstall the box, I figured it was idiot proof just to send the whole PCM.
I sent the whole box to Jody at DP tuner and got the no start, 60tow, 80econ and lope idle and that one is associated with the 120 tune. It came with the ribbon cable and little pushbutton selector switch...the F5 chip.
OK Dave, WHY DID YOU SEND IN YOUR PCM WHEN YOU COULD HAVE JUST ORDERED THE SWITCH/CHIP? Man I feel stupid. Something I don't know with DP?
I must be missing something here. I sent it in because I was going out of town, didn't need the truck for 7 days. I simply took out the box, sent it off, it came back and I put it in. Just ordering the switch and chip would involve taking something electronic and expensive apart, and putting it back together, plus the time to do it. I came home, opened the FED EX box, installed the PCM and turned the key and drove off......
OK, I got you. For anyone following, that is a way to do it but not necessary if you are willing to install the chip yourself. Let us know what you find out Dave.
con grads Dave..how do you like the tunes?? sucks about the lights and door locks...all I've heard about the cable is that it shut the truck down..that's why he went with the new ones.did them kids do any thing else??. keep us posted..I got my AE the other day and door lock, window and wipers malfunction code come up I cleared it and noticed last night that it came back...but everything seems to work ok..these code could have been there be for the tunes too...I wont worry till something happens to them..I got to fix my OD light some day.its not working..OD works just the light wont.I might have a short in the column..and that could be causing the codes..
OK, I got you. For anyone following, that is a way to do it but not necessary if you are willing to install the chip yourself. Let us know what you find out Dave.
Sorry man... I wil be honest though, it took me a while also. But it was fun watching you get it....
