vin information
for two years and actually started its resurrection
recently. the problem is there is no glove box door!
being a rehabilitated chevy guy, I do not know a lot
about fords. the number on the right side frame rail
(top) reads; *F1R2RH15458* . if someone out there
can help with a breakdown of the information it would
be greatly appreciated. production numbers would also
be cool. responses can be sent to

thank you for any help at all.
F1-F1 truck (1/2 ton)-that's a given
R -8 cylinder, 239 cu.in.
2 - 1952 year model
RH- Richmond plant, where it was manufactured.
and the rest is the production unit number
hope this helps
louie
me.
thanks,

The vin you list has been accurately identified according to my resources. So I'm left wondering if you have a half-ton F1 chassis with an F3 parcel deliv body on it?? It should bolt on normally (F2 - F6 were identical as far as sheetmetal goes and only differed from the F1 in wheel opening size)
Some general things to keep in mind: Ford didn't have a special vin designation for sedan deliveries apart from pickups as far as I know. There are probably production numbers available for what you want, but I don't have access to them.
And the vin you have shows that it was produced sometime after Sepember 4, 1951 when Ford went with a new vin series. Earlier trucks were a continuation of 1949 vins [98RC 123456]

appreciated. now that you have my interest, do you happen to know the measurementsand differences? A previous owner was told
that there were less than a thousand made, but I'm taking that
as speculation. upon disassembly I am quite sure that this is
the "factory frame" that or someone did a heck of a good job!

coming! How would one discern the difference
between the two models? My truck is devoid of any
chrome, the parcel area has a oak rack on each side
that looks original. Is there any literature
available such as assembly manuals, shop manuals,
etc.?
thanks again!
Dave in Wa.
Literature can be found on e-bay sometimes, but you have to be patient. This site's online store carries shop manuals, though I don't know if they cover panels. Someone here might have better info on the differences between a standard and deluxe panel, but here's what my book says for each....
F-1 8' PANEL: The F-1 Panel's floor was made of solid plywood with steel skid strips. A single bucket type driver's seat and twin rear doors were standard. The bezel on the tailight lenses were eliminated in midyear.
F-1 8'DELUXE PANEL: In addition to the styling changes found on all Ford trucks, the Deluxe Panel came with features found in the Five Star extra option package. One such item was chrome-extensions on the side of the hood, from the F-1 insignia toward the cab.
FIVE STAR EXTRA PACKAGE: Dome light, glove box lock, locks for both doors, deluxe door trim, chrome windshield molding, two-tone upholstery, foam rubber seat padding, right-hand and left-hand sunvisors.
Hope this helps.

been greatly appreciated. that information on your last
posting means this is a deluxe with the five star
extra package. wich means trading that rusty old 68
malibu off for it was a very GOOD CALL!! thi truck is
very solid. again, thank you.
Dave
Wow, you really did get a good deal on that truck! The info I had posted came from a book called "Standard Catalog of American Light Duty Trucks". It's about the size of a phone book, and has lots of info (Vin info, w.b., production #'s, price when new, etc., for every year, make, and model. There are pictures of each model year, paint codes, options, etc. Its kind of pricey, but a really good book! I got it from "Krause Publications Inc". (715)-445-2214
