2001 Ranger won't start sometimes...

I have a 2001 Ranger with a 3.0L engine. Lately when I try to crank the engine it either won't or will idle @ 500 RPM then die. I have to try several times while pressing the gas petal to get it to start and idle normally. Once it starts it runs great. What could be the problem? I have replaced the spark plugs and wires. I have cleaned the MAF. I assume it's the a fuel delivery problem, but I am not sure. PLEASE HELP.

Try cleaning the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve mounted on the throttle body. It will be cylindrical shaped, and have a 2-wire connector.

Check the air intake, and make sure there are no obstructions. You did not mention how many miles are on the truck. If it is over 15K, you may want to check/replace the air filter. Also, as Bob mentioned, check the IAC. Gumout makes a spray cleaner that you spray into the snorkel, that should clean the intake. Just read the directions before use.
