Exclamation Emergency Brake Help

I need to replace the pads for my emergency brake on a 99 F350. I have never worked on the brakes for one of these trucks. Just wondering how difficult it would be to replace them, and/or there any special tools needed? Anyone know of any "how to links"? Thanks.

Your E brakes are cute little brake pads that fit over your rotor on your rear brake assembly. Your truck utilizes a cap and rotor system for your rear brakes. You'll first need to remove the cap (we had to use a torch for heat expansion to get mine off, it was kind of a PITA) to get to your rear brakes, rotors, and parking brake assembly.

The assemby itself is spring loaded and fits on just so:

No special tools, but I had a brake expert with me when we were changing mine out. The only real tip I can give you is make sure you dont put your parking brakes on upside down! While your in there, inspect your rear brake pads and rotors just to make sure everything looks good. If the pads look worn or if your rotors are cracked or warped, now would be the time to replace them.

The brakes on these trucks almost never go out, so yours may have never been touched. You might have a hard time getting to them, but once you get that cap off you shouldn't have too much trouble.

I can't give you a step by step. You might contact one of the guys on here who have tech manuals to PM you the step by step directions.
